Sun in Ha – 10 April 2015

The sun showing a lot of activity lately and I have been lucky with the weather so far.

Tho, I wish for better seeing conditions. Today was no different, it’s like capturing through boiling water with haze and interfering clouds. It’s very hard getting focus and capture enough frames to produce decent images.

Nonetheless, I am very pleased with today’s results, seeing conditions and all aside.

SW Esprit 120 + Quark Chromosphere + TS 0.5 reducer + QHY5L-IIc . Stacked in Autostakkert and processed in Photoshop. Panorama created in ICE.

First up, a nice panorama of prominences on the eastern limb of the sun:

Then some solar Activity on the western limb. Same spot that produced the solar flare yesterday. Seems a new active region is coming around (hopefully):

And here a nice prominence close by the active region on the western limb:

Last but not least, active region AR 2320. I tried something new, converting to grayscale, change to 8 bit channel and then change mode to bi-color in Photoshop:
